Author Sharon Biggs has written an informative piece, entitled "A Norse Horse - Of Course". And we were pleasantly surprised to find two of Christina Handley's photos of Bluebird Lane Sparrow being ridden by Lori used to illustrate the article! There was one unfortunate error, when our NFHR Registrar Mike May was mistakenly misquoted as having said "You have to really push them into the canter", but overall the article presents a balanced overview of the qualities of the breed. Take it from me, Fjords do canter! But, like most riding horses, they need to be properly trained to canter nicely under saddle. The article wraps up by saying: "From a Viking horse to a dressage horse and everything in between, the unique and adorable Norwegian Fjord is a versatile and enjoyable companion for the modern-day equestrian." Very nicely put. Thanks Horse Illustrated!
