Our Farm

Bluebird Lane is situated on a scenic 50 acre farm near the villages of Moorefield and Drayton in Southern Ontario, Canada. We are bordered on two sides by the Grand River Conservation Area, and we overlook the Conestogo Lake.

When we bought our farm it was vacant land, so we have had the pleasure of designing and building everything that is here now - house, barn, outbuildings, pastures and fencing, outdoor riding ring, the works!

These photos give you a little "virtual tour" of our barn. We built the barn in two stages. The first stage was a 32' x 80' building with four box stalls, a tack-room, a 32' x 24' attached run-in shed, and a main floor hay storage area which is separated from the main barn by a fire-resistant wall. As our needs expanded, we put a 32' x 36' addition on the original barn. The addition houses two large foaling stalls, four tie stalls, plus a wash rack with heat lamps and hot water. What a handy thing to have a wash rack in the barn! The barn has a total of 10 stalls, plus the run-in shed, so we can house about twelve horses through the winter.

The aerial photos on this page were taken by Stefan, using his electric-powered model airplane. If you'd like to see more aerial photos, and information about how he takes them, visit Stefan's Aerial Photo Page.
