Flame of Hope Trail Ride
Elmira, ON
May 24, 2003

The Flame of Hope is a fund-raising Trail Ride and Carriage Drive in support of Diabetes Research. Held in Elmira Ontario, the ride raises valuable funds and awareness for the Diabetes Society. Typically over 200 horses and riders/drivers take part. The trail ride takes approximately 3 to 4 hours and the trail goes through a variety of fields, trails, roadsides, along the Lions Club lake, and through some farm-yards.

This year Bluebird Lane took part in the Flame of Hope with Lori riding Prisco, and Stefan riding Cindy. We were pleased to be able to contribute to this worthwile cause, and our farm raised over $1,000 in pledges to support the ride! Altogether the Flame of Hope 2003 brought in over $100,000 for charity - a proud accomplishment for the horsepeople in this area.
